Body Recovered Saturday Night

Wyoming police have tentatively identified a man whose remains were recovered from the Grand River over the weekend. The identification was announced Tuesday, June 16.

Officers were called to the 2000 block of Indian Mounds Drive shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, June 13, after passersby reported a suspicious object in the river. Upon arrival, officers located the remains of a deceased individual in the water, according to a news release from the Wyoming Police Department.

Family Notified, Investigation Continues

"Investigators believe they have identified a man who was pulled from the Grand River over the weekend. Wyoming police are taking additional steps to confirm the man's identity before his name is released."

Police said the man's family has been notified. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation, according to the Wyoming Police Department.

WOOD TV 8 reported that police immediately determined the remains were those of an adult male. The station noted that additional confirmation steps are required before the identity can be made public.
