# Grandville's The Dungeon Bar Listed for Sale or Lease After Abrupt Summer Closure

GRANDVILLE, Mich. — The Dungeon Bar & Lounge in Grandville has been listed for sale or lease after abruptly closing its doors over the summer, signaling what may be the end of the venue that opened only last year.

The Dungeon was listed for sale alongside Villa Bar & Banquet, an event venue with which it shares its building at 3594 Chicago Dr. SW near 28th Street. As of Thursday, the combined asking price for both venues stands at $2.9 million, a drop from a previous listing price.

Owner Manoj Mulki told News 8 Thursday that Villa Bar & Banquet remains open and continues to host events and weddings.

"The Dungeon is currently closed while we look at the best path forward for it," Mulki wrote in an email. "As part of that, we're exploring options for the property, including leasing, renting or a sale, and are open to seeing what interest is out there."

Abrupt Closure

When The Dungeon shut down in August, employees told News 8 they had no warning and described a pattern of financial struggles for the business. Mulki said at the time that the closure would be temporary, but provided no timeline for reopening.

A Short-Lived Venue

Online records show the current owner acquired the property for $450,000 in 2023. Villa Bar & Banquet and The Dungeon Bar & Lounge both opened in 2025, meaning the bar has been in operation for less than a year before the abrupt shutdown and subsequent listing for sale.

The sale or lease, if it comes to fruition, would mark the end of a short chapter for the venue that had drawn crowds to the 28th Street corridor in Grandville.
