Beloved Creston Pub Hitting Pause Before Next Chapter

GRAND RAPIDS — One of Grand Rapids' most beloved neighborhood pubs is temporarily closing its doors as it prepares for a complete transformation. Graydon's Crossing, a Creston staple known for its cozy British pub atmosphere and unique menu, will close on March 31 before reopening with a refreshed concept.

Over Two Decades of Community Dining

Graydon's Crossing first opened in 2005 and quickly became a favorite among locals seeking authentic British pub fare. The restaurant has since gone through several ownership changes, including a 2017 sale to the team behind other Grand Rapids favorites, SpeakEZ Lounge and Garage Bar & Grill.

Most recently, in 2024, the restaurant was purchased by MudPenny owner Matthew Fuller, who made it clear from the start that the goal was to honor what people love about Graydon's while also bringing fresh energy to the space.

"At the time, he shared that they planned to preserve the restaurant's legacy while infusing new ideas," with updates already beginning and more on the horizon.

Since then, some British classics have been revamped and other new menu items have been introduced, like butter chicken, goulash, and brunch dishes.

What's Coming Next

Now, the next phase for Graydon's Crossing is officially here. In a recent Facebook post, the team announced that March 31 will be their last day of service before a temporary closure.

The reason? A full remodel and reimagining of the restaurant. They described what's coming as "a refreshed concept, a renewed vision," focused on thoughtful hospitality and creating a space that feels both new and rooted in community.

• Classic British pub dishes like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash
• An extensive selection of 46 beers on tap, including two weekly cask features
• Indian-inspired dishes such as Indian Dirty Rice and Grass Fed Lamb Vindaloo
• Brunch options every Saturday and Sunday until 2 pm

The restaurant also offers private event spaces and has been a popular choice for special occasions.
