Police say a woman was shot and injured Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in Wyoming. The shooting was reported around 7:10 a.m. on Crooked Tree Road SW near Pine Creek Road, within Ramblewood Apartments. That is in the area of 44th Street SW and Byron Center Avenue SW.
"I heard a couple shots, and then I heard a couple people yelling and that was basically about it," neighbor Cliff VanderPloeg told News 8. "I heard a pop pop, and I'm like, that ain't no firecracker."
When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman who had suffered a gunshot wound. The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.

Schools placed on lockdown
Wyoming Public Schools confirmed four buildings were placed on secure lockdown. The district confirmed the lockdown was implemented at the request of police because of an incident in the area.
The schools placed on lockdown included Gladiola and West elementaries, Wyoming Intermediate and Wyoming Early childhood Center. The lockdown will be lifted when police give the green light.
